We are delighted to offer you our Photo Trip to China, one of our most anticipated destinations. During this trip, we will photograph the landscapes of the most famous mountains in the country, visiting the beautiful National Parks of Huangshan, Guilin and Zhangjiajie.
A Photographic Trip to China is an excellent opportunity to get in touch with nature, in one of the most impressive places on the planet. China is a perfect destination for all lovers of landscape photography, but we will also enter the ancient villages that surround these dreamlike landscapes such as Pingan Zhuangy, its rice terraces or the old town Fenghuang, a town that has been anchored in time and that at night it offers spectacular views with its hanging houses on the river.
Among the many points that we will visit, the Yellow Mountains of Huangshan and its infinite granite peaks that stand out in a sea of clouds, the karst mountains of Guilin that surround the Li river or the “Avatar mountains” in Zhangjiajie… against the backdrop of the magnificent Chinese culture, where we will photograph incredible images of the traditional life of this ancient culture. Without a doubt, an ideal scenario to obtain extraordinary photographs. We talk about an area where we will enjoy the landscape that we will have to the fullest. With such beauty, we will give rein to all our creativity when it comes to getting beautiful images.
To try to get fantastic photographs, we will get up early every day to photograph the sunrise from some of the best locations of our destination. Likewise, we will seek to capture the last lights of the day from other of those impressive places. In this way, we will have excellent opportunities to get a lot of unforgettable photos during our trip.
In the hands of our photographers Sergio Lanza and Eduardo Fuster, we will make this Photographic Trip to China, where we will surely enjoy the first snowfall of the season in some of the locations we will visit. Can you imagine having the opportunity to photograph such mythical places as the Tianzi mountain or the Lion’s Peak covered with snow and frost?
In addition, the places we will visit are loaded with history. We will photograph the famous fishermen of Xingping using their traditional fishing method in the Li River with their cormorants, ancient lanterns and mythical nets. We will also visit, as we have already mentioned, the Longji rice fields, as well as the villages of Zhuang or Fenghuang where we can capture the life of the most ancient Chinese.

Start of the Photo Trip to China. Group meeting in Shanghai airport where we will be waiting for a transport to take us to rest at the airport and start acclimatizing to the country. Depending on the arrival time of all participants, we will assess the possibility of going to photograph the skyline of Shanghai, one of the most famous and in the world that will offer spectacular views of the new China at sunset.
This morning we will go to Huangshanen a fast train, and that will take us into the country on the way to our first destination.
We will arrive at noon, with the necessary time to climb with the cable car to the top of the mountains of Huangshan National Park where we will stay the next 4 nights. During the tour, we can begin to photograph stunning aerial views of these mythical mountains.
After checking in at the hotel, we will go to our first location in the surroundings to take our first photographs at sunset from the “Peak of the Lion” or Shixin.
Once the sun goes down, we will only have to take a short walk to get to rest at our hotel and rest for the next day.
Today we will wake up again to approach the “Lion’s Peak” or Shixin, depending on the conditions, where we will photograph the sunrise. We will return to the hotel for breakfast and regain strength.
After breakfast, we will take a tour of the northern area of the park where we are staying, and we will photograph its incredible landscapes covered with snow and clouds that hide the bases of the peaks that make up this park.
After lunch, we will leave free time to take a break at the hotel. Before sunset, we will go out again with our cameras to prepare for another sunset from some of the multiple viewpoints that we will have around us.
On this occasion we will hold the sunrise session at the “Lion’s Peak” or Shixin, depending on what we did the previous day, so we will get up early in search of magical lights.
After this session, we will return to the hotel for breakfast. To be closer to new locations, we will move to a hotel located on the other side of the park. We will carry out the transfer on foot, having the possibility of hiring local porters who will take our luggage with us.
For the sunset, we will approach one of the most spectacular viewpoints such as “The Three Musketeers”.
Today we will make our sunrise from the “Bright Town” to which we will easily access from our new hotel. As it rises, the sun illuminates the scene between the peaks that protrude from the fog that forms in the morning, in a spectacular moment. Once the session is over we will return to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we will explore this part of the park known for being one of the most classic for traditional Chinese painting, since conditions make the sea of clouds more propitious on this side of the mountains.
After lunch we will continue exploring the park waiting for the sunset from another of the park’s most famous and iconic viewpoints: Welcome to the Pine.
We will return to our hotel to rest on our last night in Huangshan.
We will make our last sunrise in Huangshan before leaving for Guilin. We will enjoy the snowy landscapes and return to the hotel for breakfast before picking up our luggage.
After breakfast, we will have time to photograph until noon more routes of the park. After lunch, we will take the cable car to the base of the mountain where they will be waiting for us to take us to the airport, where we will take a flight to Guilin.
We will arrive in Guilinat dusk, where we have a direct transfer to our hotel.
Today we will leave soon to take a cruise on the Li River to Yangshuo, during which we can begin to photograph the landscapes that await us for the next days in Guilin National Park.
Once in Yangshuo, we will go to Xingping, a traditional Chinese town where in addition to its incredible mountains we can photograph its famous fishermen with cormorants at sunsetusing their traditional methods.
We will spend the night in the town, so we will have time after sunset to practice night photography through its streets, which at night maintain the ancient spirit of China since Xingping is not yet as touristy as Yangshuo.
Today, we will capture the sunrise from one of the most famous viewpoints of the Li River, and after finishing our session, go back to the village for breakfast.
Then, we will approach the beautiful surroundings of Yangshuo, to capture the beauty of the surroundings. The typical images of these landscapes, with their classic mountains are enriched thanks to the Chinese farmers who walk their fields with their animals or take care of their plantations dressed in traditional clothes.
By sunset, we will get ready to capture the last lights falling on the other most famous viewpoint in the area: Xiang Gong, where you can often enjoy incredible sunsets.
Today we will study photographing the sunrise again from Xiang Gong, where the sunrise usually offers a better light over the Li River valley.
After breakfast, we will return our way north to Longsheng to visit the villages of Pingan Zhuang and Yao, where we can photograph traditional Chinese life before reaching one of the most charismatic views of the whole country such as rice field terraces of Longji.
We will wait for the sunset from a viewpoint near our hotel, where we will rest our last night in the scenic area of Guilin.
Today we will photograph our last sunrise in Guilin National Park. We will capture today’s sunrise from another point of view on the previous day of its mythical rice fields.
After breakfast, we will go to Guilin airport to take another flight to our last destination: Zhangjiajie and the incredible mountains of Tianmen, Tianzi or Yuanjiajie.
Upon arrival they will be waiting for us to take us directly to the Tianmenshan cable car to climb the Tianmen mountain. This cable car is the longest in the world, and during its journey of almost half an hour we can enjoy incredible views. Upon reaching the top we can photograph its wonderful views from what is possibly the most incredible viewpoint in the world such as the Glass Skywalk. A 100-meter walk on a glass walkway over the cliffs of these stunning mountains.
Once this tour is finished, we will visit the caves of Tianmen, the highest natural karst cave in the world. We can also photograph the characteristic road that goes up to the top of the mountain known as the 99 curves where we will try to photograph the sunset before going down again with the cable car.
Once down, they will be waiting for us to take us to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Today we will go to photograph the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, as we have mentioned, one of the jewels of the trip. After breakfast, they will be waiting for us to take us to the cable car that will take us to Huangshi (Yellow Lion), a huge platform elevated more than 1000 meters above sea level, which consists of huge cliffs and viewpoints from where we can see almost half from the scenic area of Zhangjiajie. There is a famous saying that says: “He who does not reach Huangshi village does not make a real visit to Zhangjiajie.”
In the afternoon, we will go to the base of the mountains with the cable car to walk through Golden Whip Brook. The walk will offer us incredible photographs of these iconic mountains surrounded by crystalline waters and incredible vegetation, which together with the fogs that form will allow us to make spectacular photographs of the cliffs of these iconic mountains.
At the end of our tour, we will return to our hotel to rest and go out to dinner in the center of town. At night their neons will allow us to take social photography and typical Chinese architecture before going to sleep.
Today we will go with the cable car to the mountains of Tianzi, from where the same climb we can enjoy the breathtaking views that surround these mountains and valleys. We will walk along the path walking between waterfalls, bridges, stone forests and caves that will offer us incredible photographs of these places that inspired the Avatar movie.
In winter and with the first snowfall, they will offer us incredible views with the snowy peaks and their impressive cliffs. After lunch, we will take a bus that will take us to the Wulingyuan nucleus, a mysterious, magical and primitive place. We will photograph a natural bridge that connects two mountains, and then we will arrive at one of the most iconic points of the natural park such as the Qiankun column, or better known as Hallelujah Mountain in the Avatar movie. To get off, we will take the Bailong Elevator(One Hundred Dragons Elevator), which is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest and highest capacity elevator.
After our session, we will return to the hotel for dinner and take a final walk through Zhangjiajie.
We will get up early to get to one of China’s most spectacular lakes in the early hours: Lake Baofeng. We will take a boat to visit the park from its waters and photograph spectacular views of its cliffs among the fog that usually forms in the heights.
At the end of our tour we will head south to know one of the most photogenic and impressive villages in the whole country: Fenghuang, or also known as the ancient city of the Phoenix.Its hanging houses by the river and its traditional architecture will offer us some Spectacular images of this town surrounded by mountains, which at dusk and especially at dusk will allow us to make incredible photographs that are hardly repeatable in another place on the planet.
After dinner at one of the many restaurants in the city, we will rest at our hotel in the village.
We will get up early to be ready to photograph the incredible sunrises that are enjoyed in Fenghuang, the morning fog bathes the river adding a touch of mystery to the wonderful architecture. Once our session is over, we will return to Zhangjiajie, where we will take a flight on the way to Shanghai.
Once in Shanghai, and depending on the remaining forces, we will study the possibility of returning to the Bund area to make panoramic views of the city skyline at sunset.
We will rest at the hotel, on our last night in the country.
Today we will hold our last sunrise session in Shanghai before return to the Shanghai International Airport and end the photographic trip to China.

‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ carefully designs each one of the routes that it is offering, adapting always to the travelers’ needs. However, due to each country particularities and conditions, it is possible that the routes could vary, changing the itineraries and the places to visit.
In this sense, it will be up to the photographer/s guide/s the decision of changing any of the programmed activities and shooting sessions for each day, depending on factors as weather or light conditions, or by their consideration or thoughts, being the tour hosts, always in search of the best possible experiences and moments of light for the customers of this trip.
Also, sometimes some of the activities and sessions can be cancelled, depending on weather conditions.
The program of this China Photo Tour may also be changed in case of emergency, injury, illness, or robbery of any of the participants or main photographers, among other causes.
At the same time, both the photographers and ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ reserves the right of changing the photographer/s guide/s in case of strong reason, such as first grade relatives or own illness or hospitalization, severe health problems, accidents, etc. In those cases, the agency will bring another photographer able to guide the group in the same destination.
Our Photo Tours are trips carefully designed and planned to take our clients to a wonderful photo destination, always trying to take them to the greatest locations at the best possible moments. This is different from a Workshop, which has more of a learning component on it.
However, if any of our clients needs it, we will try to help them with the settings of their gear, as well as with any concept about photography, or giving them ideas for composition, etc. Also, if you are interested in receiving further instruction on photography, you can contact us asking for a quote.
Photography will always come number first during the trip. This means that, sometimes, we’ll be late for lunch or dinner, or even have to wait to the next meal.
We will be always waking up early and staying out till late. Also, we will have some night photography sessions , depending on conditions. However, many of the days of the trip, clients will have free time to rest, usually before of after lunch.
The traveler is responsible of having all the documentation for the trip.
According to your citizen you may need a visa. Always check the requirements with your country authorities before traveling to a foreign country.
Neither the travel company ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ nor the photographers hosting the trip have any responsibility about the travelers’ documentation or about their allowance or refusal entering the visited country.
This China Photo Tour includes basic assistance insurance. Those travelers who wish to, can get an advanced insurance for an additional cost. In this case, ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ will inform and help the client to choose a travel insurance.
To join this trip, it is mandatory to have a travel insurance, just in case anything could happen. Medical expenses in China are really high, even in the simple case of a hand or foot broken. Having a travel insurance covering high medical expenses would help in case of any inconvenience.
‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ will give personal counseling and advice to travelers when purchasing their trip. Clients will be given a list with all that they need for the route, tips about how to prepare a medical kit for the travel, recommendations about the photography gear for the place and kind of photography, etc. Our staff will be delighted to solve any doubt that the clients could have when preparing the trip.

Neither ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ as the organizing company, nor the photographers hosting the tour, are responsible for any risk or decision taken by the clients during the trip. They are not also responsible for any incident or accident during the trip, and will have no responsibility at all in case of accident, illness or injuries.
As previously stated, in case of an accident or emergency, the itinerary or activities in this China Photo Tour may need to be changed or cancelled until the situation is solved.
The client declares that he or she accepts all the conditions on this trip at the time he or she makes a reservation payment for it.
At the moment of the purchase confirmation, the client will have to pay an initial payment of $500. The rest of the payment will be effective at maximum 30 days prior to the trip. The agency can resolve the contract and apply the established withdrawal rules before the departure if the client doesn’t make effective any of the expected payments in the deadline, as the terms previously seen. The features that make up the combined travel contract come from the information given to the client in the brochure or program, as well as from the indications regarding this information that could have been given when confirming the reservation.
In case the agency doesn’t complete the minimum needed group to confirm the trip, the client will recover the 100% of the initial payment.

Prices are based in the Exchange rates by March the 20th, 2018. The currency may be updated until 21 days prior to the departure, according to Spanish Travel Laws. A supplement/discount would be applied in case of change.
Once the reservation is done by the client, and the services and their prices are confirmed by the agency, these prices only could be revised until 20 calendar days prior to the departure dates, only in case there are variations in the transportation costs (including the fuel prices), in accommodations, in rates and taxes referring to certain services (such as landing, boarding in ports and airports), or in monetary exchange rates applied to the trip.
