Northern Spain 2020
The Northern Spain area is one of the most amazing places in Spain and even Europe. It’s beautiful beaches, stunning cliffs and rocky formations, as well as the impressive mountains not too away from the sea, are a treasure to any landscape or Nature photography lover. We’ll spend a wonderful week photographing this part of Spain, guided by the photographer/s Sergio Lanza, who is local to this area, and/or Julio Castro.
This photography workshop will take us through the provinces of Cantabria, Asturias and the Basque Country, all of them next to the Cantabria Sea. We will be focusing on many of the beautiful locations of this impressive coast, visiting several beaches, like Barrika, Arnia or El Silencio, or the impressive cliffs and coastline in Costa Quebrada, or in the East part of Asturias.
At the same time, we will be visiting and capturing some really picturesque villages and small town during our trip, as San Vicente de la Barquera, Llanes, Lastres, Ribadesella and Luarca, where we will spend part of those not so good hours for photography each day. We will also visit one of the largest and most famous cities in Northern Spain, Bilbao, where we will have a sunrise and dusk session by its most iconic building, the Guggenheim Museum.
Apart from these villages and the precious seascapes, we will be also visiting incredible mountain sceneries and forests. Between these visits, we can remark places as the forests around Vega de Pas, surrounded by mountains, and full of small waterfalls, which will allow us to capture very nice shots. Other of the highlights of the trips will be our visit to the Picos de Europa National Park, an amazing mountainous area with peaks up to more than 2’600 meters / 10,000 feet high, being only around 60 or 70 km from the sea. Being such a diverse and rich area, we will get countless options for taking great photographs, regardless of the kind of location visited.
We will also have at least one post processing session during our trip, in which we will learn tips and techniques to process some of the images we had taken in our photo tour.
All these features make this one a really complete photo tour, which will bring you hundreds of photo opportunities and incredible experiences and moments. ITINERARY
DAYS 1 AND 2
We’ll be meeting at Bilbao airport for the beginning of the trip. During the two days we will spend in this area, we will visit the beautiful city of Bilbao, where we’ll focus on the Guggenheim Museum, and we will also visit some of the most stunning natural sceneries of the Basque Country, including the amazing Barrika Beach, with its incredible flysch and rocky formations, or San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a stunning island with a small church over it, world famous for having appeared in Game of Thrones.
DAY 3 AND 4
After visiting the Basque Country, we will drive West to Cantabria, where we0ll stay for the next two days. We will be specially focusing on seascapes, photographing some of the most beautiful beaches, cliffs and rock formations of this impressive coast. We are going to visit the most amazing locations during the moments of best light, sunrise and sunset, including Arnia Beach, Costa Quebrada, or Los Urros. But, at the same time, we will visit some mountain areas, as Vega de Pas, where we will capture some wonderful small waterfalls, or forests, as Ucieda.
Apart from this, we will be photographing some of the beautiful villages in the region, such as Comillas, Suances, with its incredible coast, or San Vicente de la Barquera.
DAYS 5 AND 6
For these 2 days, we will be visiting the spectacular mountain area around the Picos de Europa National Park, in both Cantabria and Asturias provinces. During these two days, we will be able to photograph the beautiful region of Liebana, with the amazing La Hermiada Gorge, as well as the Asturias part of the National Park, including a fabulous sunset and night photography session by Covadonga Lakes.
DAYS 7 AND 8
After our visit to the Picos de Europa National Park, we will focus on photographing the outstanding coast of Asturias, full of wild and stunning beaches, impressive cliffs, and green prairies getting to the border of them. We will capture sunrise from places as ‘El Castro de las Gaviotas’ rock or Gueirua Beach, as well as sunsets from El Silencio or Portizuelo Beaches, some of the most incredible locations for landscape and seascape photography in the whole country. During the rest of the time, we’ll be able to visit some of the most famous villages in the region, such as Llanes, Ribadesella, Lastres, Cudillero or Luarca. These villages will bring us also a lot of photography opportunities, while we will be able to enjoy the local style of life and food, including the delicious seafood in the area.
At the same time, we will be capturing some beautiful images in some of the forests of the area, including some incredible waterfalls that will be one of the highlights of the trip.
DAY 9
Today, we’ll drive back East to Bilbao, where this photo tour will come to an end. During our drive, we will be still doing several stops for photography, in some of the places that could be pending from our way.

The price for this fantastic 9 days (8 nights) long Photo Tour is 2,995 $ (USD $).
Prive will be calculated based on a minimum of 10 participants

Price per person based on a minimum group number and for a double room (double – occupancy basis). $1,100 supplement for individual rooms.
General considerations
‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ carefully designs each one of the routes that it is offering, adapting always to the travelers’ needs. However, due to each country particularities and conditions, it is possible that the routes could vary, changing the itineraries and the places to visit.
In this sense, it will be up to the photographer/s guide/s the decision of changing any of the programmed activities and shooting sessions for each day, depending on factors as weather or light conditions, always in search of the best possible experiences and moments of light for the customers of this trip. The program may also be changed in case of emergency, injury of illness of any of the participants or main photographers.
At the same time, both the photographers and ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ reserves the right of changing the photographer/s guide/s in case of strong reason, such as first grade relatives or own illness or hospitalization, severe health problems, accidents, etc. In those cases, the agency will bring another photographer able to guide the group in the same destination.
Documentation
The traveler is responsible of having all the documentation for the trip. To visit Spain, you need a valid Passport and may need a visa. Always check the requirements with your country authorities before traveling to a foreign country. The photographers and ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ have no responsibility about each traveler documentation, or the requirements to be allowed to enter in Spain or any other country.
Travel Insurance
This Northern Spain Photo Tour includes a basic assistance insurance. Travelers should also get a travel insurance with good coverages in case of accident or disease. The travel agency can helo them bringing options to purchase.
Personal counseling
‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ will give personal counseling and advice to travelers when purchasing their trip. Clients will be given a list with all that they need for the route, tips about how to prepare a medical kit for the travel, recommendations about the photography gear for the place and kind of photography, etc. Our staff will be delighted to solve any doubt that the clients could have when preparing the trip.
Responsibility
We are completely sure that this Northern Spain Photo Tour will be an unforgettable experience for travelers, as well as an intensive learning process. ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ considers it its responsibility, as the travel agent, to promote values such as respect (cultural, social and environmental). Those values will always prevail in all our trips. At the same time, ‘Dream Photo Expeditions’ will always ensure that the impact of their trips is never negative for the country, their citizens or their wildlife.
The photographers hosting the trip have no responsibility at all for any accident, loss, theft or damage suffered by the clients participating on it.
The client declares that he or she accepts all the conditions on this trip at the time he or she makes a reservation payment for it.
Payment
At the moment of the purchase confirmation, the client will have to pay an initial payment of $500. The rest of the payment will be effective at maximum 60 days prior to the trip. The agency can resolve the contract and apply the established withdrawal rules before the departure if the client doesn’t make effective any of the expected payments in the deadline, as the terms previously seen. The features that make up the combined travel contract come from the information given to the client in the brochure or program, as well as from the indications regarding this information that could have been given when confirming the reservation.
In case the agency doesn’t complete the minimum needed group to confirm the trip, the client will recover the 100% of the initial payment.
However if the client doesn’t show or cancels the trip, the following cancellation policies will be applied:
– Until 60 days prior to the trip: 500€.
– 60 days prior to the trip: 100% of the trip cost.
Prices are based in the Exchange rates by August, the 14th, 2018. The currency may be updated until 21 days prior to the departure, according to Spanish Travel Laws, applying a supplement/discount in case of change.
Once the reservation is done by the client, and the services and their prices are confirmed by the agency, these prices only could be revised until 20 calendar days prior to the departure dates, only in case there are variations in the transportation costs (including the fuel prices), in accommodations, in rates and taxes referring to certain services (such as landing, boarding in ports and airports), or in monetary exchange rates applied to the trip.
